Admission Requirements
The following items are required for admission:
- Complete and submit the Application for Admission
- There is a $83.00 non-refundable application fee
- One official transcript from each undergraduate institution that you attended
- Official transcript must also show awarded bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- Topics should cover personal integrity; ability to work with others; leadership qualities; oral and written communication skills; and community involvement. Letters should be completed by a supervisor, a member of academia, and someone who can attest to these capabilities. All letters must be on letterhead and signed by the recommender.
- No letters of recommendations from family, friends, or clergy (unless you worked at the institution)
- Personal Statement (no more than 3 pages)
- Current resume
Transfer Policy
Graduate-level courses can be transferred if done at the graduate level and if from a comparable university. The rigor of courses can vary with institutions, to maintain excellence and student success, we prefer our students take all courses at Howard. Providing a transcript and course description is required to transfer courses. The number of transfer credits is individualized based on the institution, course, course syllabi, and description. A maximum of six credits can be transferred from another institution.
