It has been exciting since I stepped into this leadership role as the Associate Dean for Research, Institutional Assessment and Operations. I believe the Office of Research, Institutional assessment and Operations is prototypical in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences mission, to provide an exemplary educational opportunity to motivated, and high achieving students, is supported by a team of talented faculty committed to interdisciplinary teaching, research and service. To support this mission, we must work as a team with determination to provide a strong research infrastructure that is designed to increase research grants and contracts, scholarships and gifts that advance our mission, while also raising our potential for a collective impact at the local, state, national, and international levels.
It is with this goal in mind that I join the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration to support the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences to build an infrastructure that will ensure all our academic and clinical programs remain strong with full accreditation. This support includes, but is not limited to, creating faculty research development initiatives, developing research promoting policies, including interdisciplinary research and procedures, creating sustainable community partnerships, identifying relevant funding opportunities, providing first-rate proposal development and submission services, providing reliable grants management and compliance guidance to all researchers within the college, and creatively disseminating our scholarship to a wide range of stakeholders. It is my goal that as I work diligently to increase the capacity of our College, I look forward to contributing to a research and assessment culture that will leverage innovation in science to make an impact and sustainable difference in reducing health disparities in the communities we serve.
